Sèlman Samdi

Saturdays were truly the most important days in a Caribbean household. After working sometimes six days out of the week, my mom would use Saturdays as a time for cleaning, prepping, chores, errands, etc.  And for me, my most important duty that day was watching Saturday morning cartoons (while helping with everything else during commercials)... IYKYK! Sèlman Samdi (Saturday's Only) was created in honor of my mom and her efforts to ensure that her next generation knew our history.  From the glorious scents wafting from the kitchen as my mom prepped food for us for the week to the very essence of Haitian culture permeating throughout our home, Sèlman Samedi is a snippet of all things Haiti.
